Privacy policy

The short version

Movli exists to help you organise a move. We collect only what the tools need, we don't sell your information, and most of what you type while browsing without an account never leaves your device.

What stays in your browser

Checklists, budgets, expenses, utility dates, mortgage and moving-cost calculations, contacts, documents, deposit records and inspection notes are saved in your browser's local storage. If you never create an account, that information stays on your device. Clearing your browser data deletes it, and we can't recover it.

What we store when you have an account

• Your email address and name, to sign you in and contact you about your account.
• Inspections you save, including photos you attach.
• Details you explicitly choose to save to your profile when we ask "save this for other areas?" — such as your move date, budget figures or address.
• Service-provider listings and application details, if you sign up as a vendor.

Photos

Inspection photos are used to build your report and, when you ask for it, to generate an AI description of a deficiency. They are not used to train models and are not shared with other users unless you create a share link yourself.

Share links

When you generate a read-only link to an inspection, anyone with that link can view it. Share it only with people you intend to see the report.

Anonymized reporting

We look at aggregate patterns to improve Movli — for example, typical moving budgets or which checklist steps get skipped. Administrators see only grouped figures with names, emails and addresses stripped out, and every figure is suppressed unless enough people are in the group to keep individuals unidentifiable. Administrators cannot browse what a specific person entered.

Service providers

Some listings are sponsored or given priority placement. That never changes the facts shown about a provider, and we label sponsored placement where it appears.

Your choices

• Decline the "save this?" prompt and the details stay only on your device.
• Edit or clear saved details from your account page at any time.
• Ask us to delete your account and the data attached to it.
